So day 4 of working at my first job has come to end and it is time for a new blog post!
A lot happened today! A new intern started yesterday, I was off for my birthday so I met her today. She’s really nice. She’s going to be interning there until July or August. She was there for the morning shift (7:00-10:00 A.M), but wasn’t for the afternoon shift (3:00-6:00 P.M). Usually the mornings are pretty slow. Only about 5-10 people show up on a good day.
Working with another intern wasn’t bad at all. I thought it might be weird, or awkward. I didn’t know if it would feel competitive, or like one of us was trying to show up the other. But it wasn’t like that at all. She helped some people and I helped some. Having worked there a week more than she had, I knew some workouts she didn’t so any questions she had I tried to answer.
In the afternoon shift, about 10-15 people usually show up. Today we had about 10 or 11 people in at once, which can get very hectic, but it’s my favorite time of the day. All last week everyone was getting used to asking me for help, and I was getting used to offering my help. But today, if I had my back turned or I didn’t see them, they’d just say my name and ask what was next. Everyone was comfortable. There was no awkward tension or anything. It was just simple. And I’m really happy about that. Everyone I know at that gym is so nice, and thoughtful. They’re all very funny as well. It’s a really great bunch of people. And I’m very happy to be working there!
On the way home my Mom asked me “Is it worth waking up at 6:00 A.M?” And I can honestly say it totally, 100% is worth it!
Thanks for reading today’s blog post!
